The Spring Makeup Edit

DSC00823b

We’re back with the second instalment of my Spring Edit series. As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, my skin has gotten a lot dryer in the past few months and I’m loving it. For this reason and also the move into Spring I’ve mixed up a few things in my everyday makeup bag.

One thing I’ve switched up is my foundation. I’m loving using something a bit more glowy at the moment. My current favourite is the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation (which I’ve just run out of. Sad times). The Healthy Mix concealer and powder have both been favourites of mine for a long long time. I thought it was about time I tried this foundation out. I’m usually into a more matte, long lasting foundation, but I find this lasts a full work day for me, even with the dewy finish.

Another thing I’m loving at the moment is highlighter. I  think I used to be a bit scared of it because I had oily skin and was worried about looking greasy. Now though, me and my Mary Lou highlighter are the best of friends, maybe to the point where I don’t realise just how much I’m putting on and end up going a little overboard from time to time. I really need to try out one of the Becca highlighters now!

I’m back into winged eyeliner again. My favourite Kat Von D Tattoo liner has died a slow painful death and I’m seriously missing it! Nothing quite compares! Winged liner just makes me look so much more put together, even when I just have concealer and mascara on. I think it makes me look like I’ve tried harder than I actually have!

I’m also really loving nude lips at the moment. I’ve moved away from my dark mattes, to lighter more neutral lipsticks like mac Mehr or Patisserie. I’ve also fallen back in love with my Revlon Lip Balm Stain in Honey. I used to wear it almost every day back when I was in sixth form! I’m also really liking the Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Colour in Seduction even though it’s not matte in any way it is still pretty.

Obiously for me my favourite nail polishes for the spring are light and bright pastel shades. You can see my post on my top five here.
