When Autumn comes around, for me it’s time to start cracking out all my dark and berry toned lipsticks. This year is no exception, and I’ve compiled a selection of six that are staples for me this year. Five out of the six are matte but that’s just because I prefer a matte lip, especially if it’s a dark or bold colour.
Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker in Pom Pom. This is the first make up product I ever tried from Soap and Glory, it’s beautiful berry lipstick and it’s matte formula isn’t drying at all! It has great pigmentation and considering how creamy it is it last for such a long time, even when eating or drinking.
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bauhaus. I fell in love with the Kat Von D liquid lipsticks after I picked up Batchelorette this past March in New York. Bauhaus was so hard to find, I think it’s one of their most popular shades, and there’s a reason for that! It’s a really flattering pink toned berry, and once you put it on it’s not going anywhere until you take it off, no matter what you do!
The Balm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Adoring. This is a new lipstick for me, it’s a gorgeous burgundy/wine lipstick, It doesn’t dry super matte, but just enough so you don’t have to worry about smudging it all over your face or getting it on your teeth whenever you talk. After trying this one I’mm tempted to try out some more of their shades.
Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Nude-ist. I’ve loved the rouge edition velvets for a long time now, they feel almost weightless on the lips and aren’t particularly drying. Nude-ist is a pinkish brown “nude” shade, even though it’s technically a nude lipstick it’s still pretty bold, and I love wearing it with winged liner and a lot of mascara!
Mac Satin Lipstick in Rebel. This is an autumn classic for a lot of people, and it is for me too. It’s not matte but once it wears off it leaves a slight berry stain behind on the lips which I love. I also like dabbing a little of this all over my lips and then blending it in with lip balm to give a slight berry tint.
Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 107. This is another staple for a lot of people, it’s quite similar to the liquid one from The Balm, and is another dark burgundy shade. I like patting a little of this into my lips and then sheering it out with lip balm as well to make it more wearable from day to day.
What lipstick is an autumn essential for you?
